Location: The Murphy – Dublin, Ireland
Schedule: Full-time | Rotating daytime and evening shifts, including 6:30am–3:00pm, 10:00am–6:30pm, and 2:30pm–11:00pm
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a warm, attentive, and service-driven Guest Experience Specialist to join our team at The Murphy in Dublin.
As a Guest Experience Specialist, you’ll play a key role in creating a welcoming, seamless experience for our guests throughout their stay. From arrivals and departures to concierge support, property readiness, and day-to-day operational needs, you’ll help ensure that every interaction reflects a high standard of hospitality.
This is a hands-on, on-site opportunity for someone who enjoys engaging with people, takes pride in creating exceptional guest experiences, and thrives in a dynamic hospitality environment.
What You’ll Do
Guest Experience & Hospitality
- Warmly welcome arriving and departing guests and provide a friendly, professional presence at the Welcome Desk
- Coordinate guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently and accurately
- Assist guests with questions, requests, local recommendations, and other needs throughout their stay
- Anticipate guest needs and provide thoughtful, personalized service
- Respond to guest concerns professionally and work with the appropriate teams to support timely resolution
- Maintain discretion and confidentiality when handling guest information and interactions
Property Operations & Readiness
- Conduct routine walkthroughs of guest corridors, common areas, and other designated spaces to ensure property standards are maintained
- Complete room inspections and support readiness activities as needed
- Monitor property access, activity, and general safety throughout the shift
- Maintain clean, welcoming, and well-presented communal spaces
- Restock guest amenities and supplies as needed
- Complete daily operational logs, inspection documentation, and detailed shift handover notes
- Identify and escalate maintenance, safety, cleanliness, or guest-impacting concerns
Service & Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate with Housekeeping and Maintenance partners to support property cleanliness, presentation, and preventative maintenance standards
- Partner with Facilities, Food & Events, Security, and other service providers to support smooth day-to-day operations
- Assist with coordinating guest experiences, property activities, and events as required
- Communicate operational needs and follow up with internal teams and external service partners to ensure issues are resolved
Systems, Communication & Teamwork
- Monitor the internal support ticketing platform and respond promptly to incoming guest inquiries, operational requests, and assigned tasks
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of guest and operational activity
- Provide clear and detailed handovers to colleagues between shifts
- Use hotel management systems, productivity tools, and mobile inspection platforms to support daily operations
- Collaborate closely with Guest Experience colleagues, leadership, and service partners to maintain consistent service throughout the property
What You Bring
- 2+ years of relevant experience in hospitality, guest relations, front office, customer service, or a similar guest-facing environment
- A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering thoughtful, high-quality guest experiences
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and remain composed in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment
- Strong judgment, initiative, reliability, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues and service partners
- Comfort using hotel management systems and productivity platforms; experience with systems such as StayNTouch, UniFocus, Microsoft 365, or Google Workspace is an advantage
- Ability to prepare clear and detailed operational and shift handover reports
- A third-level qualification is preferred, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience
- Flexibility to work rotating daytime and evening shifts and adapt to operational coverage requirements
Schedule & Flexibility
This is a full-time, on-site position based at The Murphy in Dublin, Ireland.
The role operates on a structured roster with shifts that may include:
- 6:30am–3:00pm
- 10:00am–6:30pm
- 2:30pm–11:00pm
Because hospitality operations can change based on guest and business needs, flexibility is an important part of this role. Team members may be asked to work different rostered shifts to support colleague leave, peak occupancy periods, events, and other operational requirements.
Physical & Work Requirements
This is an active, on-site hospitality role that involves regular movement throughout the property. Responsibilities may include:
- Standing and walking for extended periods during a shift
- Walking between property levels and using stairs as required
- Moving or lifting supplies and other items weighing up to approximately 11 kg (25 lbs.)
- Operating front desk and other standard workplace equipment
- Conducting room and property inspections
- Performing light presentation and upkeep tasks, such as wiping surfaces, hoovering, mopping, and restocking supplies
- Carrying out routine property and safety checks
