Job Summary

The Vice President, Sales will lead, develop, and motivate a team of Sales professionals to achieve maximum activity and revenue goals through one-on-one coaching, team training, off-site teambuilding and strategizing to generate and drive new sales pipelines and to close new business.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Collaborate with the Executive Vice President, Sales and ownership to create and execute the sales strategy.
  • Meet or exceed established revenue sales goals for Furnished Quarters core markets, and Global Solutions markets.
  • Develop and lead the Sales Team for the assigned markets to ensure individual, and market sales revenue goals are achieved.
  • Conduct weekly/biweekly one on one coaching sessions with the sales team.
  • Assist in motivating the sales team for maximum activity and revenue production.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Vice President, Sales to develop and lead team training sessions twice monthly for all sales teams: coordinators, corporate sales, leasing.
  • Work with Executive Vice President, Sales to prepare and conduct annual off-sight sales retreat. 
  • Resolve client and guest concerns by working consistently with all sales and operations teams. 
  • Strategize daily with sales teams to help close individual bookings. 
  • Contribute to overall marketing strategy to drive sales. 
  • Generate and drive creative new sales pipelines/ideas to assist the sales team in closing new business. 
  • Strengthen relationships with assigned accounts through sales visits, client entertainment, site inspections and repeated follow-up.
  • Ascertain client needs and create and implement customized large scale furnished housing programs. These will include but are not limited to technology solutions, specialized reporting, negotiated pricing, etc. 
  • Plan and implement an ongoing targeted account list to create new revenue and acquire valuable contacts.
  • Conduct outside sales calls, while targeting results-oriented high revenue potential sales calls to ensure success.
  • Conduct research, surveys, personal investigation and study marketplace and territory to effectively capitalize on the company’s strengths and competitor’s weaknesses and capabilities.
  • Understand the global furnished housing marketplace and the strength and weaknesses of all relevant participants, be them aggregators, vendors, housing providers, etc. Strategize with the team to determine which partners are the best fit for Furnished Quarters
  • Effectively monitor market position within assigned markets.
  • Forecasting, metrics, numbers and pipeline.
  • Develop weekly and quarterly sales plans and action steps for you and your Sales Team.
  • Present weekly updates to EVP Sales in an organized report.
  • Know competitors’ top accounts, decision makers, rates, technology and what it will take to move the business.
  • Network with prospects to uncover other decision makers for direct referrals.
  • Coach sales team to write sales proposals and negotiate the close of a sale.
  • Perform site inspections, provide client entertainment as necessary.
  • As directed, participate in trade shows, conventions and promotional events within the industry and customer organizations.
  • Act as a brand ambassador by maintaining active memberships of industry and networking organizations.
  • Plan, organize and execute RFP related materials and meetings as a strategic leader.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years as a Sales Director, or equivalent sales experience.
  • Experience selling up the value chain to Human Resources, travel, C-level and multi-channel decision makers.
  • Experience leading and managing a sales team accomplishing personal sales goals.
  • Knowledge of travel and or relocation industry.
  • The ability to understand current market trends and economic factors.
  • Extensive skill in development and delivery of sales presentations.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce and Oscar experience preferred.
  • Computer skill proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Selling Skills, which are at minimum above the industry average, including but not limited to prospecting, rate and contract negotiating, business planning and telephone sales.
  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
